Viktor Yotzev, full-stack developer and computer science student

I'm a Bulgaria-based full-stack developer studying for a BSc in Computer Science at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. I build complete business applications with Next.js, Node.js, and MongoDB: the data models, the APIs, and the interfaces on top of them. I also build responsive React web products that stay fast and polished on any device.

I learned to program at SoftUni Svetlina High School and decided there that I wanted to build software for a living. I now spend most of my time designing schemas, writing API routes, and shipping the interfaces that sit on top of them. On the side I am learning AI: I follow courses in the area and try ideas out in my own projects.

Since 2020 I have worked independently while studying Computer Science, building business software and public-facing web products: an ERP platform I built end to end with Next.js, Node.js, and MongoDB, and production websites with React, Vite, Tailwind CSS, and Firebase. I design sound data models, draw clear API boundaries, and measure the performance of the interfaces I ship.

Water & Energy Savings ERP

My largest project: an ERP platform for Water & Energy Savings, which I built alone from database to interface. I architected the Next.js application and its React interfaces, and I wrote roughly 90 API route files backed by MongoDB and Mongoose. It handles authentication, role-based authorization, and administrative controls, and it covers the operational workflow (projects, tasks, schedules, budgets, expenses, payments, and documents) alongside dashboards, notifications, reporting, exports, and file handling. I added validation, data migrations, security controls, and automated tests so the system stays maintainable as it grows.

Starlight Capital

I designed and built a responsive React/Vite website for Starlight Capital, turning dense investment and energy content into a clear, conversion-focused structure. I chose reusable content blocks and performance-first asset handling so updates stay fast and consistent. Investors and partners now land on a site that reads as credible and scales as the content grows.

Hybrid Energy Rock

I built the Hybrid Energy Rock website with React and Firebase, with a clean product narrative for PVT technology and a short path from visit to enquiry. I chose a component-based layout to balance technical depth against readability on mobile and desktop. I made the message clearer, the content easier to manage, and the route to an enquiry shorter.

My main tools are JavaScript, React, and Next.js, on top of Node.js, REST APIs, and MongoDB with Mongoose. On the interface side I use Vite, Tailwind CSS, and Material UI. I also know Python, Java, C++, C#, and SQL, and I reach for them when a problem calls for it.

I am in Year 3 of a BSc in Computer Science at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, running from 2023 to 2027. Before that I graduated from SoftUni Svetlina High School, where I learned my programming fundamentals.
